Our Process

Hambleton Construction has two different processes depending on the size of the job.

Smaller Jobs – $10,000 or Below

Smaller jobs (those under about $10,000) begin with a meeting at your home. We go over the scope of work and talk about finished looks, practicality, and budget. A few days later you will receive a proposal for the work discussed.

Larger Jobs – Above $10,000

For larger scale projects such as additions, whole house renovations, kitchens, and basements, we will also have an initial meeting to go over the scope of work. At this first meeting, we will determine if architectural plans are needed. If so, you can provide your own or we can refer you to a licensed architect with whom we work regularly. Soon after our first meeting we will provide a preliminary proposal based on scope of work and/or architectural drawings. We will meet a second time to go over this proposal. During this meeting you will receive our product selection sheet, which categorizes and keeps track of all of your product selections and project specifications. We will also discuss job length and a start date. If you are ready to move forward after this second meeting, we will continue to meet as many times as needed to finalize the scope of work, pricing, and product selection. We ask that you select most all of your products and finishes before your project starts. That enables your project to run smoothly and ensures that there are no delays. After all selections are made, permits secured, and materials ordered, your project is ready to begin! During your project we will have regular progress meetings based on need and/or your preference. Upon completion of the job, we will have a final walkthrough to make sure everything is finished to both your and our satisfaction. We will also ask you to fill out a form about our service so we can better serve our future clients.
